Amanda and Cody’s love story began when they met in middle school, they didn’t start officially dating until 9th grade, but Amanda thought Cody was shy yet so cute and sweet and he thought she was fun, kind, and “the best ever.”
One night years later, Cody made Amanda supper — her favorite meal: chicken parmesan. He also had a flower petal trail leading up the stairs to a room filled with pictures from all the years the two have been together. He then got on one knee and asked the love of his life to marry him.
On August 16, Amanda and Cody tied the knot at Rustic Oaks in Moorhead, Minnesota — she dressed in a lovely dress from White Lace Bridal (Bismarck) and he in handsome attire from Fargo’s very own Halberstadt’s.
Cody was most excited to say “I do,” and Amanda was looking forward to the first look, which did not disappoint. We have never seen so many people so eager to see a groom cry and to everyone’s satisfaction, Cody shed some tears as he saw his beautiful bride for the first time.
What your favorite thing about the other?
“He treats me like a queen.”
“I love her sassiness and personality.”
The party was popping with bridesmaid tears and ginger jokes courtesy of the groomsmen. For us, it felt like a whirlwind of a wedding. It was the wedding after Nicole’s car accident, so she was a little nervous about it and brought a second photographer. Little did she know, it was going to be Amanda’s blessing in disguise.
One of the girls came up to Nicole during the dinner saying that Amanda wasn’t feeling well, so Nicole immediately jolted from her seat and ran over to her to check on the situation. Amanda had a stomach ulcer on her wedding day — WTF. She wanted to hurry things up because her dress was digging into her abdomen, exactly NOT what you want on your wedding day.
But whoa there. Don’t worry Amanda (and any future local brides) because we’ve got extra dresses. Wild right? Our girl Nicole has a small closet of wedding and bridesmaids dresses — not to make her sound crazy … she uses them for styled shoots, we promise.
Although sitting around to watch TV together Friends-style DOES sound fun ...
Nicole sent her partner-in-crime Gabe back to her place to grab the dresses while she snagged some sunset photos of the couple in Amanda’s OG dress. Once the dresses arrived, it seemed like it was meant to be. The first one she tried fit like a glove and she continued her wedding day rockin’ the mesh sleeve wedding dress (shown in the dancing photos).
Amanda + Cody,
You two are so sweet. We adore your history together, your love story, the way you look at each other and smile the biggest smile when the other walks in a room. Thank you for asking us to be a part of your wedding. We are so happy you are MARRIED and inspired that nothing can stop the celebration of your love — even stomach pains and a quick change ;)
We are grateful we played even a small part in documenting your special day. Cheering for you forever!
xoxo, the Nicole Midwest team
